What performance parts should I put into my miata?

I have a 97 Mazda Miata and want to make it faster. I dont have enough money for a super/turbocharger and dont want NOS. I need cheaper upgrades under $500 per part like a $200 cold air intake or $30 spark plugs. I was also wondering about Those electric Superchargers and if they work. also please provide good websites to buy these items THANKS.

BTW its an automatic =[What performance parts should I put into my miata?
I wish it was not an automatic! Maybe you do too!

Don't bother with the cold air intake unless it is one that provides ram air also. Jackson Racing makes a great one (http://www.miatamania.com/Shop/ViewProdu鈥?/a>

Then there is the exhaust header, Jackson Racing make one that is better then stock (http://www.miatamania.com/Shop/ViewProdu鈥?/a> But the spin offs on E-bay are a lot cheaper (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Raceland-鈥?/a> and you can get a hi-flow cat to go with it at the same time (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CATALYTIC鈥?/a> for less money. Your header may have cracks in it and need replaced anyway.

From there on back on the exhaust any changes (2.25 is the ideal exhaust system size) will help but not near as much as the above changes.

The electronic superchargers do not work according to Miata.net.

As a matter of fact that might be a good place to look for more information (http://forum.miata.net/vb/forumdisplay.p鈥?/a>What performance parts should I put into my miata?
If you want a performance car, jack up your radiator cap, slide the Miata out and slide a performance car in. Miata is not a performance car in any way shape or form. Anything other than a tune up or basic maintenance under $500 is going to be a waste of money. What performance parts should I put into my miata?
the electric turbos dont work. k%26amp;n air filter kit will help a little. good spark plugs and wires will help. theres no cheap way to get horsepower
save your money %26amp; get a mustang

...and money you spend on this car is wasted
