How hard is it to change out a window regulator on a 91 Mazda Miata?

Access is a bit difficult, but you do need patience and small hands. How hard is it to change out a window regulator on a 91 Mazda Miata?
No, it's quite easy...just messy due to the glue from the panel..sockets{mm} and screwdriver should be all you need...

Is the maintenance of a mazda miata expensive?

Im 17 and im currently looking for a first car and i was wondering if maintaining a miata was expensive and if they are a good first car to have or not?Is the maintenance of a mazda miata expensive?
I was in the exact same position as you a while back. I purchased my 95 Miata as my first car. I had driven other cars but they were not mine and I did not drive them everyday.

One thing you have to understand is that it is a light-weight rear wheel drive car. Meaning, if you get your tires wet and go through a corner to fast you will start to "fish-tail" and probably lose control of the vehicle. However, if you are aware of the nature of the vehicle you will have no problem. The first night I brought my miata home, I did that exact thing and have done a few times since. With that said, rear wheel drive is vastly superior to front wheel drive in so many ways. I won't get into that but you should research the differences.

Miatas are extremely reliable. If you keep up with your oil changes, belt changes (general maintenance) the car will easily last up to and likely beyond 200,000 miles. In all my time I have owned my miata, I have had only one issue, and that was a blown heater hose.

The cost to have a miata repaired is also quite cheap. The engine bay is very organized and everything is easily accessed. The parts are not as cheap as Honda Civic parts but they are still quite inexpensive.

The gas mileage is very good for a sports car too. On an average day, I will get about 25 mpg. I could get more if wasn't as aggressive with the throttle.

All in all, I have had a great experience with mine and appreciate the fine car that it is. Hope this helps and good luck!

  • Is it possible to replace my manual top cover on my 1995 Mazda Miata to a power automatic one?

anyone know?Is it possible to replace my manual top cover on my 1995 Mazda Miata to a power automatic one?
There is no kit in existence for this! If you think that there is a good market for them, why not engineer one for those who think they need one.

But don't expect me to put one on mine, it just means extra weight and as a result performance loss.Is it possible to replace my manual top cover on my 1995 Mazda Miata to a power automatic one?
Power tops aren't very popular for Miata's because it increases the one thing that makes the Miata great...it's low weight. The motor, wiring, switch assembly, etc that would be required would add probably at least 100lbs to the car, much of it being in the worst possible place...above the center of gravity. If you did it, it would be a 100% custom application, and unfortunately would cost probably as much as your 95 miata is worth to do.

Will a luggage rack on a Mazda Miata hold a snowboard?

I know they make luggage racks for Mazda Miatas, they go on the lid of the trunk. But can these racks old a snowboard or a pair of skis?

Snowboard should be fine, Skis you'd obviously have to be careful about length. Will a luggage rack on a Mazda Miata hold a snowboard?
Yes it will since snowboard it not that heavy.

91 Mazda Miata over heats in a short period of time and white smoke with water comes out of exhaust.?

I believe it's a blown head gasket and a broken thermostat, just wanted to get a second opinion and to make sure these are the symptons of such malfunction, Thanks.91 Mazda Miata over heats in a short period of time and white smoke with water comes out of exhaust.?
You've popped a head gasket, and possibly cracked or warped the head. You'll probably find oil in the radiator, and coolant in your oil. Good luck.
I had a similar issue with my miata. First thing I would check are your hoses. Your car is over 20 years old and the hoses are going to worn. I would check the heater hose specifically because this is usually the first hose to go on the miata.

If the car got to hot you are going to want to replace the thermostat. I would say replace it anyways because it only cost about $20. You are probably ok though. It takes quite a bit damage the engine through overheating though.

My mechanic fixed all of the above and did a coolant flush for just under $200.91 Mazda Miata over heats in a short period of time and white smoke with water comes out of exhaust.?
head gasket , cracked head , cracked block...possible faulty thermostat, or a host of other problem,s that could have caused the initial overheat that resulted in your cooling system/engine damage.
head gasket. i had that same problem. good luck91 Mazda Miata over heats in a short period of time and white smoke with water comes out of exhaust.?

After checking youtube for some audio bytes, I went with Racing Beat for my FC3S RX-7. they're a little more pricey but it's worth it to know that it's THICK stainless steel. One of the two mufflers weighs 25lbs alone.
