Do you think a Mazda Miata is a good car?

I just want to know if this is a good functioning car. Is it good in gas mileage? Does it have any main issues that I should look out for? Things like that. It's going to be my first car and I want a car that is a 2 seater and is stick and that is cheap to take care of. So is this a good car for that?Do you think a Mazda Miata is a good car?
Mazda Miatas are great cars and I've owned several. They are very hearty and have been known to last over 250,000 with proper maintenance. The engine the miata uses take forced induction very well. They are popular on many track circuits as well. Here is the breakdown.

First Generation: (by far the easiest to modify)

90-93: 1.6l engine

94-95: 1.8l engine, Mazda beefed up the engine so expect to get about 10-15 more horsepower out of these cars. They were still OBDI and didn't fall under the same emissions controls.

96-97: Mazda again beefed up the engine but not by much. The car has OBDII and some extra components for the new emissions controls.

Second Generation:

99-00: Mazda completely changed the body and did away with the pop-up headlights. Still uses a 1.8l engine but ran about 10 more horsepower than the first generation.

01-05 Mazda beefed up the cars look and made the 1.8l more powerful but not by much. Also Mazda introduced 01-05 Mazdaspeed models which included a turbocharger.

Third Generation

06-09: Mazda introduced a brand new 2.0l engine and produced about 20 more horsepower than the second generation miata. Although they are faster, many complain that it doesn't handle as well as the first generation.
cool cars im a mechanic and ive not heard of any known problemsDo you think a Mazda Miata is a good car?
yeah depends what year. first gens have a 1.6 i think. and second gens have the 1.8. so theyre really good on gas mileage. really light car so yeah. 28 MPG and the next 32 MPG around there. good car for a girl or small man. in my opinion
The Mazda MX-5 Miata is a great car to own. It's an enthusiast car because it has great handling, balance, and enough power to move along. The Miata doesn't have any kinks to look out for and should be fairly cheep to maintain. The Miata is also great on gas, achieving 21-22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway according to the EPA. Based on what you're looking for it seems the Mazda will fit your bill.Do you think a Mazda Miata is a good car?
Be sure to check frame and undercarriage for presence of rust!!!!
