Is it worth it to buy a hardtop for my miata?

I live in alberta Canada so winter is a concern.Is it worth it to buy a hardtop for my miata?

hardtop is not necessary for driving in the winter, i've driven numerous winters without one. however, hardtop will decrease noise, and since some come with a defroster it is better. I'd only recommend it if you were trying to replace your soft top other than that they're expensive 500-$1000.Is it worth it to buy a hardtop for my miata?
The hardtop does more the just keep you warmer in the winter. It also adds reinforcement to the metal between the shock towers and hence improves handling. A trailer hitch can do the much the same thing (you should sell the looks I get when they see a class two hitch on mine).

The big problem is finding one. I just can not justify the expense on a car that cost only a little more then what I can find a hardtop for.

I have a miata and we put the hardtop in the fall and winter and take it off for the spring and summer.





and the defrosters for the rear window really help.
