My 1990 mazda miata lost all pressure to the clutch and is overheating. What could be wrong and how can i fix it?|||If the clutch pedal is not working, replace the slave cylinder. If the clutch is not engaging (the engine revs but the car does not move) replace the clutch.
If you are sure the water pump is good, and the coolant is full. Then replace the cooling fan relay switch. It is in the fuse compartment under the hood.
Last year I had to replace this relay in both of my 90 Miata's. I also replace the water pumps every 120 K miles. The last time I did my clutch, I bought a 10 lb flywheel set up off of e-bay for less then what a clutch plate and pressure plate would have cost a NAPA. Works great, but I had to provide a few bolts not in the kit.
Also when I did the slave cylinders, I could not get the fitting to reseal, so I bough some AN adapters and put in a hydraulic brake hose from Summit racing.
Hope you get it fixed. I enjoy ours too much. With proper car, I hope to keep them on the road till they take my drivers license away from me.
